New Nas Album King’s Disease II Drops This Friday
Escobar season has returned.
Nas recently tweeted the tracklist of his upcoming album, King’s Disease II. And its features are noteworthy, including guest spots from Ms. Lauren Hill, Eminem, EPMD, and YG.
Ms. Lauren Hill and Nas haven’t recorded together since their 1995 hit “If I Ruled the World (Imagine That).” As for the Eminem feature, it’ll be the first time that the two rappers exchange bars, but not their first collaboration. In 2002, Eminem produced the song “The Cross” for Nas’ album God’s Son. Eminem must be stoked about the track as he’s quite the Nas fan, and once admitted to paying $600 for a sealed cassette tape of Illmatic, says NME.
Nas has been on a bit of a hot streak both in music and as an investor. This year, he won a Grammy in the Best Rap Album category for his album, King’s Disease. And, as an investor, Forbes reported that Nas won big from this year’s Coinbase IPO in April. Nas was an early investor in the crypto exchange, and on the day of the IPO, his stake may have been worth as much as $100 million, according to Yahoo.
Executive produced by Nas and Hitboy, King’s Disease II is out this Friday, August 6, which could also be the release date of a certain Chicago rapper (but maybe don’t hold your breath).
